The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) is set to file a petition seeking to raise the minimum wage in Central Visayas.
This is as part of their efforts to further raise wages in most regions of the country.
TUCP Vice President Luis Corral announced this and said they are set to file a motion for a request to increase the minimum wage in Region 7 by Php200 from the current Php400.
He clarified, such a wage petition has nothing to do with the ongoing unrest now between Russia and Ukraine, and it is not only due to the increase in crude oil prices.
Meanwhile, the official also said that for now, it is still necessary to finalize the latest petition they are scheduled to file.

It will be recalled that last week the TUCP also appealed for an additional Php470 for the daily minimum wage throughout the NCR.
