The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio received recognition at the Gawad Pilipino Awards 2024, held on November 19, 2024. The event honored individuals and institutions that demonstrated exceptional service and dedication to the nation.
Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio was conferred the Outstanding Public Servant Award for his exemplary leadership, transformative initiatives, and significant contributions to enhancing transparency and efficiency in customs operations. Under his stewardship, the BOC has achieved remarkable progress in combating smuggling, streamlining trade facilitation, and boosting revenue collection.
As an institution, the BOC was also honored with the Tapat sa Paglilingkod Award for its steadfast commitment to public service excellence and recognition of the agency’s innovative programs anchored on sustained efforts to build public trust.
Commissioner Rubio expressed his gratitude, stating, “Our workforce is the backbone of the august institution I proudly represent, and I humbly accept these awards on behalf of the men and women of the Bureau of Customs. These awards reflect their diligence and are a testament to the leadership I strive to provide as the Commissioner of Customs.”
