In the 2025 local and national elections, candidates and party-list groups will be urged by the EcoWaste Coalition to make sustainability and environmental stewardship their top goals.
The organization asked candidates to submit their certificates of candidacy (COCs) quietly, without causing traffic jams, motorcades, or publicity. Additionally, they asked candidates to abstain from dangerous chemicals, cut back on plastic usage, and stop doing things like fastening posters to trees.
Additionally, the group asked candidates to remove their campaign materials after the May 12, 2025, polls to recycle or dispose of them.
The House of Representatives members representing legislative districts in the National Capital Region should file their certificates of candidacy (COCs) at the Office of the Regional Election Director-NCR Office; senatorial and party-list candidates should file at the Law Department Offsite Office at the Tent City of Manila Hotel, according to the Comelec’s advice. The Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor (OPES) or the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) assigned by the Regional Election Director is where candidates running for legislative districts in the provinces should register their certificates of candidacy.
For some district representatives of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, specifically for the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, and Tawi-Tawi, COC filing will take place from November 4 to November 9.
