The Bureau of Customs (BOC)–Port of Iloilo, including Kalibo International Airport (KIA), successfully passed the Internal Quality Audit conducted by the Interim Internal Quality Management System Office (IIQMSO) on January 30-31, 2025.

The audit, held at both the Iloilo District Office and KIA, ensures the port’s readiness for the upcoming surveillance audit in May 2025. The audit team, led by Ms. Marilou Cabigon, assessed the Port’s compliance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 standards. The ISO certification is one of the five-point priority programs of Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, reinforcing the BOC’s commitment to quality service, efficiency, and continuous improvement. District Collector Ciriaco DG. Ugay, LCB, expressed appreciation for the efforts of Team Iloilo in maintaining high standards.

“This achievement reflects our dedication to excellence. We will continue to improve our processes to better serve the public and uphold the professionalism, integrity, and accountability of the Bureau of Customs,” he said. The ISO 9001:2015 certification aims to enhance stakeholders’ satisfaction, improve operational efficiency, and ensure transparency in customs processes. With this successful audit, the BOC–Port of Iloilo, under the leadership of Collector Ugay and the guidance of Commissioner Rubio, moves closer to maintaining its ISO certification and strengthening its role in trade facilitation, revenue collection, and border protection.
