The Bureau of Customs – Port of Subic successfully conducted its Internal Quality Audit on March 17-18, 2025, as part of its proactive preparations for the upcoming External Audit.
The audit aimed to evaluate the extent of conformity of the Port’s Quality Management System (QMS) to international standards, as well as relevant customs statutory and regulatory requirements. It also served to identify areas for improvement and to verify the effectiveness of previously implemented corrective actions.
The audit was spearheaded by the Deputy Head of the Interim Internal Quality Management System Office (IIQMSO), Ms. Gladys C. Cabugawan, together with the Lead Auditor, Ms. Marilou A. Cabigon, and their dedicated team. Their diligence and expertise ensured a thorough and objective review, reinforcing the Port’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
As a result of the audit, the Port of Subic received two (2) Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) and two (2) Positive Findings, which will serve as valuable input in strengthening its QMS framework—ensuring continued efficiency, compliance, and high-quality service to stakeholders.
In his closing message, District Collector Atty. Marlon Fritz B. Broto, MNSA expressed appreciation for the successful conduct of the audit and the collective efforts of all involved:
