Kalibo police station arrested a freelance broadcaster at his home in Barangay Ochando, New Washington, Aklan for a cyber libel case.
The caught person was identified as Carlo Asturias, of legal age, a native of Roxas City, Capiz, and currently working and living in Aklan.
Based on the report, Asturias was arrested on Saturday, February 12 by a joint force of the Criminal Investigation Detection Group (CIDG), Highway Patrol Group (HPG), and New Washington PNP.
The arrest was made under a warrant of arrest in case of violation of RA 10171 or cyber libel.
The cyber libel charge it faced took root after it accused former Sangguniang Bayan Member Jun Rondario of Malinao, Aklan of being involved in illegal logging and illegal quarrying in his program on the former radio station where he worked. after.
