The inflation rate hit 3 percent in February, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The leading reason for this is the increase in energy and transport costs in recent months.
This latest data is still in the 2.8 to 3.6 percent range set by the Central Bank of the Philippines for the month.
Based on PSA data, food and non-alcoholic beverages in the National Capital Region recorded a -1.6 percent inflation rate in February, faster than -3 percent in January.
Meanwhile, in transport, the inflation rate was 7.9 percent in NCR, faster compared to the 6.5 percent pace in the previous month, due to diesel and gasoline price movements.
Meanwhile, areas outside the NCR slowed inflation to 3.4 percent in February from 3.5 percent in January.
The PSA said the slow slow inflation rate in areas outside the NCR was a result of the milder increase in food and non-alcoholic beverages.
