In the latest Senate inquiry, Wang Fu Gui, a Chinese national and confidant of She Zhejiang, confirmed that Alice Guo also known as Guo Hua Ping is a Chinese spy and that her foray into local politics as mayor of Bamban, Tarlac was arranged and funded by China’s intelligence agency. In a recorded interview, Wang Fu Gui stated that Guo Hua Ping, or Alice’s dossier as a Chinese spy was included in the encrypted files that She Zhijiang had entrusted to him.

She Zhejiang is the subject of an Al Jazeera documentary, in which he claims to be a discarded Chinese spy who knew too much and is currently detained in Thailand. The documentary was shown during the previous House Quad Committee hearing. As expected, Alice Guo denied the accusations and dared to say that she would be filing charges against Al Jazeera.

These latest revelations confirm the rumors that have been swirling for some time now that Alice Guo is indeed a spy for China.

Claiming to be a Filipino, Alice shamefully ran for and won the position of mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, in 2022. Earlier this year, government authorities raided an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) operating in Bamban, uncovering hundreds of trafficked workers—mostly foreign nationals—living in horrific conditions. They also found incriminating evidence of other illegal activities, including money laundering, drug trafficking, immigration bribery, and investment scams.

Naturally, this prompted an inquiry into Alice Guo, given her role as an incorporator of Baofu Land Development, Inc., the very compound where the illegal POGO operates. The inquiry led to questions about Alice’s nationality and real name.

Investigations revealed that Alice Guo’s fingerprints match those of a Chinese national, Guo Hua Ping and that no birth records existed until she turned 17. During the hearings, Alice stubbornly insisted she was a Filipino citizen and that her only name is Alice Guo. She denies being Guo Hua Ping, but when pressed for proof of her Filipino identity, she claims she cannot remember. She states only that she was born on a farm to a Chinese father and a Filipino mother and was homeschooled. However, aside from this flimsy narrative, she offers no credible evidence to support her claims of having grown up in the Philippines.

Documents and financial records have also revealed alarming ties between her company, Baofu, and China. Money from Chinese nationals was funneled into constructing the Baofu compound, financed by a joint account belonging to Hongjiang Yang and Zhengcan Yu. Hongjiang Yang is the brother of Michael Yang, a former economic adviser to former President Rodrigo Duterte, while Zhengcan Yu is one of the incorporators of the POGO.

Motivated by his one-sided infatuation with China and Xi Jinping, Duterte used his position to increase Chinese influence in the Philippines. His pro-China policies allowed questionable Chinese businessmen to enter the country, and illegal POGOs operated with little oversight. Duterte allowed Alice, a Chinese national, to run for mayor in the Philippines with funding from China. This blatant and unprecedented violation of the Constitution could not have happened without Duterte’s approval.
